The following recommendations will help you to submit the correct type of photos so that your application will not be rejected.

FORMAT: _

  • Photos must be 3.5cm X 4.5cm in colour (1.4" X 1.9")
  • The portrait must show the top of the shoulders (or base of the neck).
  • The size of the face must be between 32mm and 36mm or take up 70 to 80% of the frame.
  • The face must be correctly centred on the photo.
  • The photo must have been taken less than six months ago and perfectly resemble the applicant at the day of application and the day of pick up of the passport.
  • Please do not cut the photos.

PHOTO QUALITY:

  • The luminosity and contrast must allow the natural colour of the skin. Their must be no flash reflections on the face or no red eyes.
  • The facial expression must be neutral and the mouth closed with no hair in front of the eyes.
  • The face must be seen from a front view. Both sides of the face must be visible.
  • Styled poses (looking over one shoulder, head bowed etc…) are not allowed.
  • The head must be free of all headgear, no hats, scarves, headbands or other decorative objects. There is no exception to this rule.
  • If you wear glasses, you are not required to wear them in the photo. However if you do your eyes must appear clearly; no tinted lenses, no flash reflections, the frames must not cover any part of your eyes, light or thin frames are recommended.
